My name is Axel Steffens – I am the proud owner of the Venngasthof Zur Buche and now also the owner of the Nassenhof.

As a native of Mützenich who was practically born into the cradle of gastronomy, I moved back home from Cologne in 2019 and started my own business with the Venngasthof Zur Buche. My parents used to run a restaurant in Mützenich themselves, so I more or less grew up in the restaurant business.

A lot has happened since then – the Venngasthof Zur Buche not only enjoys a completely new overall concept, in which the guest is always the focus, no, it is blossoming again in new splendor and welcomes guests from all over the world as a hotel garni with bed & breakfast.

Since August 1, 2025, our guests can now find our restaurant Zur Buche at Eupener Straße 80 in Nassenhof. With 50 seats in two separate rooms – the bistro and the restaurant – our restaurant guests can now really enjoy themselves. And if it’s a larger party? No problem! With our adjoining hall, we always have the right space for your cozy get-together.

We, the entire crew of the Venngasthof zur Buche and the Nassenhof, are always friendly and tireless in our efforts to ensure that you – our guests – have an unforgettable stay. We are only ever satisfied and happy when our guests are too!
